Raising Koala Orphans

Raising koala orphans is a challenging task as it requires a huge commitment of both time, energy and resources. Koala joeys come into care when their mothers have either been killed, euthanased, injured or are too sick to care for their off spring themselves.

To raise koala joeys, a special license is required which can be obtained via a koala rehabilitation group such as Wild Care or from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.
